18 Vils Cuman 2 TC Boom
The goal of this build is to establish a big economic lead early, before your opponent can keep pace. This is the strongest way to play Cumans, and it tends to win outright if your opponent doesn't punish it properly. The downside is that if you do get punished, it can be hard to recover. There are a few ways to adjust your follow-up after the 2 Town Center boom, covered at the end of this build.
- [Dark] Send 6 villagers to sheep (pop 6)
- [Dark] Send 2 villagers to wood (pop 8)
- [Dark] Send 1 villager to boar (pop 9)
- [Dark] [Optional] Lure deer once you’ve found both boars
- [Dark] Next 2 vils to hunt under TC (get the second boar when needed) (pop 11)
- [Dark] 1 to make a house then mill (pop 12)
- [Dark] Next 3 vils to hunt under TC (pop 15)
- [Dark] Send 3 villagers to berries (pop 18)
- [Dark] On closed map like arena, you can skip loom and either make another villager or go up earlier
- [Dark] Research Feudal Age (perfect landing time: 8:50) (pop 18)
- [Feudal] Move 6 vils from hunt to wood, stay on 1 lumbercamp (pop 18)
- [Feudal] Make second TC on another woodline. If that is not possible then second best is to make it on a gold/stone
- [Feudal] Research double bit axe
- [Feudal] Note: On open maps id skip horse collar if you were scared of aggression. On closed maps you should always get it
- [Feudal] Villagers coming out of the TCs should be going to wood/stragglers/farms, whatever you need
- [Feudal] Note: Our main goal is to stabilize 2 TC vil production before moving on to other steps
What next: By mid-Feudal Age you'll have a few directions to take the game, depending on your plan and what your opponent is doing. If they're tower rushing you: secure stone as soon as possible and use defensive towers. Don't be afraid to fight back with villagers if it helps deter the aggression. If they're playing a normal army like Scouts or Archers on an open map: get the direct counter once your 2 Town Center villager production has stabilized (usually around 12 farms). If they're fast castling and pushing you, or dropping a castle on an open map: add army like Archers or Scouts as soon as you know they're fast castling. This stops them from building forward on you and buys you time, remember that going all-in in Feudal Age with a strong army plus your 2 Town Center economy can beat a fast castle all-in push. If there's no aggression coming, or you're on a closed/safe map: build up a solid number of farms, move into gold, put down your Feudal buildings, and aim for the fastest Castle Age time you can get. Undisturbed, you should be hitting Castle Age around 19-20 minutes. GLHF!
